John Baker grew up around woodworking, as his father is a carpenter/contractor, and his grandfather was a carpenter. They were always fooling around making projects out of wood, and when he was old enough, John worked on job sites with his dad. He has a B.A. in Music/Recording Arts from CSU Chico. He helped pay for his education by working on construction job sites and in woodworking shops. He also taught private guitar instruction for three years while living in Chico
When John is not teaching Kids’ Carpentry, he builds stuff, does home remodels, runs, and reads. He is a guitar player and performs in a number of bands in the Bay area. John also does a lot of recording and is owner/operator of Cry Love Studios.
John’s greatest gift as a teacher is his ability to connect with children. He is passionate about teaching and is always striving to be a better teacher. John started teaching Kids’ Carpentry going on 9 years ago, and is excited about it as much today as the day he started.
